Have you ever wanted to try pole dance? What about aerial hoop, or aerial silks? Come and join us for a fun and friendly introductory session in pole, aerial hoop or aerial silks. Absolutely zero experience (or strength/flexibility) is required- all you need to do is bring your curiosity and enthusiasm! Our committee will be there to guide you through a warm-up, then teach you some absolute beginner-friendly moves in small groups on our society-owned equipment. Whether you are new to the University or a returning student, there is a pole and aerial discipline for everyone! Bring a bottle of water to the session (it can get tiring!), but you do not need to bring any special equipment. Please remove any jewellery (especially rings or bracelets) before participating. Long hair is best tied back. Below is some specific information about what to wear depending on which discipline you want to try. **Pole:** Ideally, wear shorts that expose the knees and a tank top. Skin grip is crucial (and is how you stick to the pole!). For the moves that we will teach you, having the back of the knee exposed is most important. The moves will be easier if you wear a tank top/sports bra as well, for underarm grip. However, if you would rather wear a T-shirt, that is okay too! **Aerial hoop and Aerial Silks:** Ideally, wear leggings/joggers and a short/long sleeve top for underarm cover. Unlike pole, there is a risk of mild friction burn if you have your skin exposed. For the beginner moves we will teach you, please have your legs covered. **Everyone is welcome at Pole and Aerial Arts Society.** We are deeply committed to being inclusive of all genders, abilities and strength levels. We have a zero-tolerance attitude to any form of discrimination or harrassment. Be respectful of others trying something new, and have fun yourself! If you have any access needs, injuries or concerns about participating, please feel free to get in touch with us. We would love to help you find a way to join in and we are all looking out for you! Finally, tell all your friends and come and see what Pole and Aerial Arts society is all about! If you want to check out our society, our instagram is **@uobpoleandaerial** for photos, videos, and performances throughout the year! We are so excited to meet you. Whether you are looking for a new hobby, a way to keep active, or a fun group of people to try something different with, we'd love to welcome you.
