ACCESSIBILITY

Bristol SU is committed to running safe and accessible events for all students. If you have any questions about access to our events please email the Bristol SU Events team on bristolsu-events@bristol.ac.uk.

The Fleece is situated on an old cobbled street with pave stone sidewalks, which in some places can be uneven. The entrance to The Fleece has a small lip (no higher than 10mm) into the main doorway. There are no steps or lips anywhere in the venue but there is a historic flagstone floor which can be uneven in places. There is an accessible toilet in the venue. Loud music, strobe lighting, other bright flashing lights, haze machines and other special effects will be in use at this event. You can find out more about Access measures at The Fleece on their website.

We welcome attendees who need to bring medicines, food, or drink to manage a medical condition, or medical equipment. Please email us on bristolsu-events@bristol.ac.uk or speak to a member of staff on arrival if you have any questions or concerns.

SAFETY

We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable time at our club nights. If you have any issues during the night please speak to a Bristol SU staff member wearing pink hi-vis, we have a team of Welcome Angels who are there to make sure nothing ruins your night. Drink spiking is a criminal offence carrying a sentence of up to 10 years in prison. Bristol SU takes all allegations of drink spiking extremely seriously and any student found to be spiking people’s drinks will be reported to both the university and the police. Drinks toppers and test kits are available behind the bar at all club night venues. By buying a ticket to this event you agree to abide by the Bristol Rules:

👉 No. 1 - Out Together Home Together Check in with your friends. If they look like they’re struggling, it’s time to act. Make sure you all get home safe, share your location, and look after one another.

👉 No. 2 - Call It Out Inappropriate behaviour, especially when it comes from your mates, needs to be called out. Be an active bystander; make sure your friends know what they’re doing isn’t OK.

👉 No. 3 - Don't Be A Creep Put yourself in their shoes. They don’t want you to tell them they’re fit, they certainly don’t want you to dance too close to them. Don’t ruin someone else’s night. Everyone should know that touching, grabbing or groping someone without their consent is not okay, it's a criminal offence.

👉 No. 4 - Respect Everyone Our differences are what make Bristol such a brilliant place. So regardless of how someone dresses, who they date or how they dance, leave them to it.

👉 No. 5 - Keep Away From The Edge Don’t be tempted to sit by the harbourside at night. Keep away from the edge and be extra careful near the water. Cold water shock makes getting out of the harbour even harder when you are intoxicated.

👉 No. 6 - Take It Easy There are loads of factors which determine how alcohol and drugs affect you. Take it easy. Pace yourself. It’s OK to say no. The best nights are the ones you can remember.
