Join the Archaeology and Anthropology Society on a local fieldtrip to Stokeleigh Camp Iron Age hill fort! We'll be meeting at the Clifton Observatory and walking over the Suspension Bridge into Leigh Woods, where you can find the remains of Stokeleigh Camp, one of three Iron Age hill forts in the Bristol area. This is a good opportunity to see some of Bristol's local archaeology, explore the nearby Leigh Woods, and meet people on your course or with an interest in archaeology! Feel free to bring a warm drink and snack to have once we get to the hillfort. Please wear good footwear and clothes for walking outdoors in, and bring waterproofs if rain is forecasted. In the case of bad weather, we'll let you know ahead of time if we need to cancel and postpone to a later date! Looking forward to seeing new (and old) faces, feel free to send us an email or DM our Instagram @bristolarchanth if you have any questions! π Clifton Observatory, walking to Leigh Woods π Saturday 26th of September β°11 AM - 1 PM πΆββοΈπΆββοΈ 30 minute walk to the hill fort, and same distance back
