BEEES x Vulkos Chipathon

Unfortunately, this event has sold out. Please message your full name, uni email, and phone number to Lily Nguyen on WhatsApp at 07480 293538 to join the waitlist.

Design your first chip. Compete to get it manufactured.

Ever wondered how the chips inside your phone are actually made? Join BEEES and Vulkos for a hands-on evening where you'll go from logic gates to your own chip design, all in your browser.

We'll start with the basics of digital logic and then write your first design in Verilog (the code used to describe hardware). From there you'll simulate it, turn it into a real chip layout and export it, ready for manufacture. No chip design experience is needed, and there's nothing to install.

🎤 Guest talk: Leonardo Coppi, Graduate Silicon Engineer at Graphcore
A University of Bristol graduate and IET Future Talent Award Scholar, Leonardo will talk about his experience of chip design at Bristol-based Graphcore, and what's possible in the industry.

You'll leave with:

  • Your own chip design, ready to be manufactured
  • Hands-on experience of the full design flow used in industry: code, simulation, layout
  • A place on a UniChip team, if you want to keep going. You'll compete against universities across the UK and Europe, and the best designs get made in real silicon.
