The Political Economy Society is excited to announce its first guest speaker event of 2026/27. We will be joined by Dr Benjamin Tippet to discuss his recent work into the economics of extreme wealth and wealth taxation. Dr Tippet is a Lecturer in Economics and Wealth Inequality at King's College London, a council member of the Progressive Economy Forum, and a committee member of the Post-Keynesian Economics Society. He recently worked with Dr Gabriel Zucman on the research paper, 'Taxing Extreme Wealth in the United Kingdom: Revenue Estimates for a 2% Minimum Tax on Ultra-High-Net-Worth Households'.
This event is open to all UoB students, whether you're studying economics or just personally very interested. You don't need to be a member of society but we do encourage you to follow our Instagram or join our WhatsApp GC to hear more about our upcoming events.
