Description

Welcome to Bristol Trading Society!

The Bristol Trading Society is one of the most prestigious student-led investment societies in Bristol and was established with the goal of educating in financial markets. Led by the most experienced and knowledgeable team on campus, our mission is to enhance members’ financial literacy and nurture their passion for Sales & Trading, Capital Markets, Research, and Risk.

About Us

We specialize in all the popular asset classes serving both buy-and-sell-side. With our unique hands-on approach, we equip members with the knowledge, resources, and practical experience to guide them into careers at Investment Banks, Hedge Funds, Asset Managers, and much more.

Our analyst programme covers 7 separate trading desks, each with its own team of analysts. The divisions are: Equities, Derivatives, Currencies, Commodities, Fixed Income, Quant, and Cryptocurrency. There is also our highly esteemed Research division, as well as newly founded Risk division. We educate our members on each desk of trading, as well as related topics such as fundamental and technical analysis, trading techniques, and the psychology of trading. Accordingly, there will be weekly reports provided which include trade ideas, insights, and market briefings.

We are also dedicated to providing members with the opportunity to connect with industry leading firms and professionals, through hosting panel Q&A's, networking opportunities, and speaker events. Members can also put their skills into practice and track their group's progress on a demo account for trading and operate similarly to a trading firm. In addition, we have exclusive access to Bloomberg terminals at Bristol where we also will be running educational sessions, as well as be using them for research. Our respective divisions will also contribute to publishing weekly reports and market briefings.

Membership

Our membership structure includes full access to our analyst programme, in addition to our market briefings, weekly market reports. You will also receive full access to our online and in-person events which present a fantastic opportunity to gain experience and knowledge in your area of interest, as well as network with senior professionals.

Having introduced an Education Secretary for this upcoming year, we our members will gain valuable access to our learning classes and lectures, as well as weekly training sessions. We will offer members the opportunity to get involved in writing reports, generating trade ideas, and carrying out live demo trading. These insights will prove invaluable when it comes to applying to spring weeks / internships / grad roles.

If this appeals to you, please sign up for a membership to our society. It is completely free!
