BULABDS notoriously is one of the largest societies at the University of Bristol, with dance classes taught by dance coaches that are designed to be easy-going, give you plenty of time and many opportunities to socialise, have fun, and at the same time learn to dance!
The dancing that we offer is separated into two categories: Latin and Ballroom.
Latin dance comprises of the rather chic, sexy and cheeky dances such as the
Ballroom dancing is made up of dances usually associated with traditional ballroom dancing:
It is a welcome alternative to the showmanship of Latin, erring instead on the side of grace and elegance.
Classes
We run a social class for those wanting to dance socially in a fun, friendly and relaxed atmosphere; as well as team classes for those deciding to be part of our competition team, or just want to have a greater focus on technique and presentation.

Membership
Classes are open to Bristol University students, UWE students and non-students.
UWE and non-students are required to affiliate with the University of Bristol Students Union.*
This trial membership gives you access to all classes for the first two weeks of term (30/09-14/10) meaning you can try out any and as many of our classes as you want. If you have bought trial membership the £10 will be taken off your team membership payment.
Society membership includes access to all social classes for no additional cost as well as all the other perks of being a part of BULABDS
This membership includes £25 society membership giving you access to all social classes as well as a £90 team class pass to attend all team classes for the whole year (levelled at either Beginner, Novice or Intermediate/Advanced). As this membership includes the standard society membership you do not need to purchase society membership separately.

*Please note: Non-students will, unfortunately, have to pay an annual £25 affiliation fee to the Students Union. (link here https://www.bristolsu.org.uk/groups/associate-membership-group-1e45)
**Additional costs for competitions, transport and optional private lessons are not included in these prices.

When joining a club or society you are agreeing to abide by the constitution, general rules, regulations and policies of University of Bristol Students’ Union and also the Club or Society Code of Conduct which sets out the level of behaviour & discipline expected of all Club & Society members.
Any customer who pays for a membership subscription to a Bristol SU Society, Sports Club, Student Media and initiatives has a 14 day cooling off period from the time and date of purchase during which they have the right to cancel the subscription and receive a full refund. If you do decide to cancel within the 14 days, Bristol SU will refund your payment within a further 30 days of the cancellation. To request a refund please email: bristolsu@bristol.ac.uk
Please be aware that Bristol SU may share data relating to the members of its sports clubs with the Centre for Sport, Exercise and Health (a department of the University). This information may be used for the purposes of communicating direct with these members and/or to cross-reference against SEH's Sports Pass membership records.
As part of Bristol SU's membership of British Universities & Colleges Sports (BUCS) Bristol SU may have to share data on to its sports clubs members so BUCS can, from time to time, communicate with these members.
