Description

Who are we?

Gamesoc is the place to be at UoB for Boardgames, Roleplaying games, Social deduction games, Trading card games, Wargames, Megagames (and sometimes LARPing!). If it’s not electronic, we play it. We own huge quantities of boardgames, trading cards, roleplaying sourcebooks and wargame terrains, all available for you to try out, borrow, and enjoy!

Upcoming meetups and events

We get together every Saturday, 12pm - 6pm, spread across four CALD rooms (4.70, 4.72, 4.74, & 4.76) on the 4th floor of the Richmond Building, and will also be holding special themed events and socials most weeks. Please note that this calendar is provisional; for the latest updates see our Discord and Instagram.

  • Saturday 18th of April (4pm): GAMESOC AGM 2026
IT'S DEMOCRACY TIME! That’s right, on Saturday the 18th of April at 4pm, we will be hosting our AGM. It will either be in one of our regular rooms, or in another room in the Richmond Buildings, if we are able to book them. We will make sure to let you all know in plenty of time what the exact details are. Anyone who has a membership can vote at the agm and run for any of these committee/liaison positions. You can nominate yourself for any position through the nominations form. You can find out more about what each role does by sending us an email, or contacting us through our socials. You can also suggest Amendments to the Constitution or Motions that we will vote on at the AGM. You can suggest these through the motions/amendment form. Soon we will be releasing an Agenda with some of the Amendments we’re planning on suggesting to the society. If you don’t think you’ll be able to make it for the AGM, you can choose a proxy to vote in your place. Your proxy must be a member, and will get two votes, one for themselves, and one on behalf of you. If you would like a proxy, you must message someone on the committee with your name & email, as well as the proxy’s name & email (so we can check that both of you are members). Your proxy cannot be a proxy for more than one person, and they cannot use their proxy vote to vote for themselves. They can vote for themselves with their own vote as normal though. A few days before the AGM we will send you a list of candidates so you can tell your proxy who you’d like them to vote for

Our community

For all our news and updates, as well as a fantastic community of fellow gamers to chat with, we'd love for you to join our Discord server (you don't need to be a member). This is our primary venue for general discussion, finding Tabletop RPG groups (like Dungeons & Dragons), suggesting improvements to our society, and more. To keep up to date with the more socials side of the society, follow the Instagram @uob_gamesoc, or join the Whatsapp, and you can reach us with any other queries through either Discord, Instagram or by emailing bristol.gamesoc@gmail.com. For more up to date news, and links to other things, follow this linktree link.
