Gamesoc is the place to be at UoB for Boardgames, Roleplaying games, Social deduction games, Trading card games, Wargames (and sometimes LARPing!). If it’s not electronic, we play it. We own huge quantities of boardgames, trading cards, roleplaying sourcebooks and wargame terrains, all available for you to try out and enjoy!
We get together every Saturday, 12pm - 6pm, spread across four CALD rooms (4.70, 4.72, 4.74, & 4.76) on the 4th floor of the Richmond Building, and will also be holding special themed events and socials most weeks. Please note that this calendar is provisional; for the latest updates see our Discord and Instagram.
Tuesday 16th of September 2025 (6pm-9pm): Sober Social: Games Night

Friday 19th of September 2025 (1pm - 5pm): Give it a Go! with Gamesoc (Takeover Day)
Want to meet some friendly faces and learn to play some unique board games that aren’t just Monopoly, Risk, or Cluedo? Come down to the Balloon Bar on the ground floor of the Richmond Building where we will introduce you to our wide selection of games. You will leave the session loving the games we have, and wanting to come back to play them again in our regular meets. You don’t need to bring any equipment: just yourselves. Book your free ticket here, or by going to our Events page.
Sunday 21st of September 2025 (4pm - 7pm): Blood on the Clocktower Give it a Go!
Come along to meet a bunch of friendly faces and play some exciting games of Blood on the Clocktower! Blood on the Clocktower is a social deduction game (like Mafia or Werewolf), but better as everyone has their own power. Can town execute the hidden demon before it's too late, or will the demon kill them first? No need to have any experience - just turn up at 4pm to the Stephenson Room in the Richmond Building. Book your free ticket here or by going to our Events page
Saturday 27th of September 2025: Welcome Fair
Want to get to know the society better? Come and find us at stall 193 in the Adventure & Interests, Hobbies & Media tent.
Sunday 28th of September 2025 (10am - 1pm): Boardgames Quiet Meet: Give it a Go!
Are you looking for a place to play some boardgames and make friends in a quiet environment? Come and find us in room 5.20 on the 5th floor of Senate House, from 10am-1pm, where you will find likeminded people to play games with. This event will be a lot quieter than our usual meets, so if you get overwhelmed by loud noises, this is the Give it a Go for you. If you are someone who gets loud very easily, or enjoys loud places, we would politely ask that you do not get a ticket for this event. Otherwise, get your free ticket, and we'll see you there! (You do not need to bring anything, just yourselves). Book your free ticket here or by going to our Events page.
