Bristol SU recognises that the costs of participating in student groups can be prohibitively expensive for some students. The Activity Hardship Fund was created to support those students who wouldn't otherwise be able to participate in their chosen activity due to the cost.

About Us

Japanese Jiu Jitsu is thought of as an “art for samurai who are temporarily lacking weapons", a historical style that was developed in feudal Japan that is powerful and efficient for self defence. Jiu Jitsu has a wide variety of techniques with an emphasis on grappling and immobilisation. We use striking, throws, and joint-locks to quickly and elegantly take down potential attackers.

Don't worry if you've never done it - we will teach you from beginner level. All you need is a t-shirt and some loose-fitting trousers, so why not try it out? We will run GIAG sessions that are free of charge, see our events section!

It's good to get to know the people you train with, which is why we make sure to regularly head to the pub after sessions and host frequent socials. Jitsu is a brilliant way to meet new people who all share an interest in fitness and martial arts, your first session is always free and we'd love to have you train with us.
