Who we are · درباره ما
Persian Society is a community for Persian students, and anyone curious about the culture. From Nowruz and Yalda to chai nights, sport, food, music and nights out, there’s always something happening.
You don’t need to know anything about Persian culture to join us. Just bring yourself.
What we get up to
Persian 101 · فرهنگ
The Persian traditions we celebrate, and the nights out in between.
Around 20 March
Persian New Year on the spring equinox: a haft-sin table, new clothes and a lot of visiting family.
All year round
Dorehami is Persian for a get-together. Games, Mafia, music and snacks, and everyone stays longer than they planned.
21 December
The longest night of the year, spent up late with pomegranates, watermelon and Hafez.
Throughout the year
A long table at a Persian restaurant, then a crawl across Bristol’s pubs. Come hungry, leave with a new group chat.

Membership is £5.00. However, tickets may need to be bought with notice before certain events.
Persian society is an apolitical and secular society that might organize political or religious-based activities with other societies but, is not and will not get directly involved. Direct political and/or religious activities will not be tolerated in the society by any means.
All Club or Society members can expect to receive:
When joining a club or society you are agreeing to abide by the constitution, general rules, regulations and policies of University of Bristol Students’ Union and also the Club or Society Code of Conduct which sets out the level of behaviour & discipline expected of all Club & Society members.
Any customer who pays for a membership subscription to a Bristol SU Society, Sports Club, Student Media and initiatives has a 14 day cooling off period from the time and date of purchase during which they have the right to cancel the subscription and receive a full refund. If you do decide to cancel within the 14 days, Bristol SU will refund your payment within a further 30 days of the cancellation. To request a refund please email: bristolsu@bristol.ac.uk
