Persian society is a dynamic cultural society, welcoming anyone regardless of their nationality or beliefs. Join us for free to experience the Persian culture; including but not limited to: trying out Iranian cuisine, dancing the night away to middle-eastern music, and enjoying Bristol's shisha and nightlife. Whether it is learning new words from a different language or barbecue parties and sports, Persian society is the club you are looking for.

 

We aim to organize inter-society activities and be the means for culture enthusiasts to experience more about the Persian and Iranian culture.

 

PerSoc 2021/22 Events

 

During the past year, we have kept our members busy with numerous events such as:

  • Chai and backgammon nights 
  • Football watchalongs
  • Nowruz celebration
  • Shisha nights 
  • Bar crawls 
  • Charshanbe souri celebration
  • “Yalda night” longest night of the year celebration
  • BBQ and sports days
  • Multiple restaurant gatherings

 

Last but not least, we at Persian Society, are not 'tarofi' at all so don't be shy and get your free annual memberships now for member prices on tickets and updates on future events!

Membership fees

Membership is free. However, tickets may need to be bought with notice before certain events.

 

Religious and Political Policy

Persian society is an apolitical and secular society that might organize political or religious-based activities with other societies but, is not and will not get directly involved. Direct political and/or religious activities will not be tolerated in the society by any means.

 

 

Service Standards

All Club or Society members can expect to receive:

 

  • The opportunity to attend regular meetings, events, activities, trips and socials as arranged.
  • The opportunity to stand for a committee position or vote in their elections (Bristol students only).

 

Code of Conduct

 

When joining a club or society you are agreeing to abide by the constitution, general rules, regulations and policies of University of Bristol Students’ Union and also the Club or Society Code of Conduct which sets out the level of behaviour & discipline expected of all Club & Society members.

Refund Policy

 

Any customer who pays for a membership subscription to a Bristol SU Society, Sports Club, Student Media and initiatives has a 14 day cooling off period from the time and date of purchase during which they have the right to cancel the subscription and receive a full refund. If you do decide to cancel within the 14 days, Bristol SU will refund your payment within a further 30 days of the cancellation.  To request a refund please email: bristolsu@bristol.ac.uk
