Bristol SU recognises that the costs of participating in student groups can be prohibitively expensive for some students. The Activity Hardship Fund was created to support those students who wouldn't otherwise be able to participate in their chosen activity due to the cost.

Добро пожаловать! We’re Bristol SU’s Russian-Speaking Society (RSS) - a community for everyone who speaks Russian, is learning it, or is simply curious about the language and culture. Our society is all about people, traditions, and shared experiences.
We all know the feeling of coming to a new country - it’s exciting, but also a bit scary. New people, new opportunities, everything you dreamed of… but at the same time, there’s that strange hole in your heart. You look around and all the signs are only in English - it feels odd. You try to tell a joke or anecdote - but no one gets it. You play your favorite songs - but no one knows the lyrics. You crave your homemade food - but the ingredients aren’t there.
We know we can never fully replace your home - but we can keep trying. For all of us. For many of us, Bristol has already become a home, but we still carry nostalgia in our hearts. And we want help you with this feeling. We want to learn about your home and share a part of ours.
What we do
🐦 Culture & Traditions: celebrate Easter, New Year, Maslenitsa and more with authentic workshops, food, pub-quizes and festive vibes.
🦊 Socials that slap: karaoke (our guilty pleasure 🙂↕️), board games, contests with prizes, clubbing - or just casual chats in Russian (and any other language).
🐥 Inspired by Home: new fun events based on classics we all know - from Битва экстрасенсов to Модный приговор - with a Bristol twist.
🦖 Collabs & Trips: joint socials with other societies and group outings to concerts, shows and touring Slavic artists.
🐳 Sweet Spots Map: a custom Google Maps guide to the best cafes, pubs with student discounts, Eastern European shops and local hidden gems.
