The Turkistan Society is a friendly and welcoming community that celebrates the cultures, traditions, and histories of Turkic countries. We represent places like Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan andAzerbaijan - and we’re open to anyone who wants to learn more about the cultures, no matter where you are from.
Our goal is simple: share our cultures, bring people of different cultures together and to make our university feel more like home. We run all kinds of events, from movie nights and quizzes to trips, socials, and cultural celebrations. It’s a great place to meet new people, learn something new, and have fun.

This is where you sell your membership! Don’t forget to include the price and what that gets the member for the year. You might also want to include some information here about who you accept to your group and why it might not be suitable for some people.
We’ve had an exciting start to the year with our Freshers Meet & Greet and a Central Asian Movie Night in October, followed by a meaningful Uyghur Support Talk and a fun cultural Quiz Night in November. And we’re just getting started — we have plenty more planned throughout the year, including karaoke nights, football meet-ups, a bowling trip, a New Year celebration, a traditional food night, a trip to Bath, hiking, Ramadan iftar events, and even taking part in the Bristol Marathon as a society. With a mix of cultural, social, and community-focused activities, we aim to create a lively and welcoming space for everyone interested in Turkic and Central Asian culture.
