Welcome to UoB Bridge Club!

What is Bridge?

Bridge is a 4-player trick-taking card game that requires strategic thinking, deduction and teamwork. It is played in two phases; a bidding phase, and a card-playing phase, using a standard pack of 52 cards. If you have ever played Whist, Hearts, Chess or Poker then you will love bridge!

What does UoB Bridge Club offer?

  • Teaching sessions - We are very lucky to have an England Junior international for teaching.
  • Social sessions - For everyone who wants to play bridge and improve.
  • Competitive sessions - Including teams entered in the Portland Bowl, the inter-university knockout competition, in addition to regular online and in-person training.

Membership

Membership costs £1 for the 2024/2025 academic year. No matter whether you've never heard of the game before, know a little bit about trick-taking games, or you're a seasoned expert, everyone is welcome to try out our taster events for free.
