Lifesaving Sport: Give it a Go!

Ever wondered how Lifesaving can be competitive? Come down to the Richmond Building and find out - don't forget your swimsuit! We'll take you through what happens in a usual 'wet' and 'dry' training session, and you'll get to have a go at some of our competition events like 'rope throw', 'swim and tow' and emergency rescue scenarios ('SERCs'). Plus you'll get to meet some of our friendly club members who can answer any questions you have about the club! When and where: Wednesday 23/09/26 13:30-14:30 at the Richmond Building Pool for the wet session, and 15:00 to 17:00 in the Stacy Rooms for the dry session. With this ticket, you are welcome to attend both or either the wet and dry sessions. What to bring?: Swimsuit, towel, water bottle, (goggles) Disclaimer: At Give it a Gos and to take part in wet training, attendees MUST be able to swim 50m of the SU pool. Additionally, it is important to note that Lifesaving is a predominantly water-based sport/society, so members need to be able to access and be comfortable in a swimming pool environment (the SU pool has a hoist available on request). Where this is not possible, we now offer dry-only training but will do what we can to help with accessibility.
