**Have you ever wanted to try pole dance? What about aerial hoop, or aerial silks?** Come and join us for a fun and friendly introductory session in one of these three disciplines. Absolutely zero experience (or strength) is required- all you need to do is bring your curiosity and enthusiasm! Our committee will be there to guide you through a warm-up, then teach you some basic moves in small groups on our society-owned poles/hoop/silks. Whether you are new to the University or a returning student, there is a pole and aerial discipline for everyone! We will all warm up together and then split into groups to be taught the basics. Each GIAG will last 30 minutes. **The £5 fee for a ticket is a DEPOSIT to ensure session attendance (as our slots sell out quickly, we want to make sure as many people get the chance to come!). If you attend the session, this will be returned to you. A register will be taken at the beginning of the session. Refunds will go through Bristol SU in due course.** Bring a bottle of water to the session (it can get tiring!), but you do not need to bring anything else! Long hair is best tied back. **Please remove all jewellery prior to using any of the equipment.** Below is some specific information about what to wear depending on which discipline you want to try: Pole: Ideally, wear shorts that expose the knees and a tank top. Skin grip is crucial (and is how you stick to the pole!). For the moves that we will teach you, having the back of the knee exposed is most important. The moves will be easier if you wear a tank top/sports bra as well. It is okay to wear a T-shirt instead if you prefer! Aerial hoop and Aerial Silks: Ideally, wear leggings/joggers and a long-sleeve top. Unlike pole, there is a risk of mild friction burn if you have your skin exposed. For the beginner moves we will teach you, please have your legs covered. Short sleeve top is ok too! Everyone is welcome at Pole and Aerial Arts Society. Our society is deeply committed to being inclusive of all genders, abilities and strength levels. We have a zero-tolerance attitude to any form of discrimination or harrassment. Be respectful of others trying something new, and have fun yourself! There will be members of committee present if you have any concerns or questions. We are all looking out for you! Finally, tell all your friends and give Pole and Aerial Arts a go! Want to see what we get up to? Our instagram is **@uobpoleandaerial** for photos and videos of practices, performances and more!
