Duties: 

As a Just Like Us ambassador your role will be incredibly varied. There are a number of exciting projects, tasks and opportunities you can get stuck into. You will be trained to deliver talks and workshops to schools about growing up LGBT+, use your voice online by creating digital content and contribute to loads of different areas of the organisation such as fundraising, promotion, strategy and inclusion. Not only this but being an ambassador is a great way to make connections with a massive network of other diverse LGBT+ people and gain valuable employability skills such as public speaking, networking and digital content creation.

Who will the volunteers be working with?: 

As an ambassador you will work with: - Other Just Like Us ambassadors (all school talks will be done in pairs). - Just Like Us staff, - School students and staff (secondary) - You may also have the opportunity to work with corporate partners on digital campigns.

Training: 

We provide all new ambassadors with extensive training, with sessions held throughout the year, both in-person and online. This includes training in public speaking, building your LGBT+ story, diversity and inclusion and various other fields that will help enhance your experience with Just Like Us.

We have a diverse community of ambassadors from a range of backgrounds. You don’t have to be out to everyone to be an ambassador- we take steps to make sure you’re safe and how public-facing your role is, is totally up to you.
