Reclaim the Night March

Bristol SU's Reclaim March is back! As part of the national Reclaim the Night movement, we are uniting as many women, non-binary people and supporters of the campaign to reclaim the city as our own, and to demand the use of public spaces at night without fear!

"Reclaim is an opportunity for us all to march together to take an active stand against gender based violence and oppression; demonstrating our defiance to living in fear. Due to the pandemic, we have not been able to hold this march since 2019, so I am beyond excited to be bringing it back this year. We hope to see students, staff and the wider community marching together to make a statement in solidarity with each other, with survivors of sexual violence, and in hopes of a safer Bristol. In 2022 we will not relent to victim blaming, or blurred lines around consent. This march is just the beginning of fighting for a safer university, a safer Bristol and a safer society, so please come along to show your support!"

We will be meeting at Queen Square from 6pm, before marching up Park Street to the Richmond Building at 6.30pm

We are working with iFemsoc and the Women's Network to make this an inclusive and empowering event, with speeches and student performances to follow in the Balloon Bar from 7.30pm until 8.30pm.

Performers and Speakers

We will have an introductory speech at Queen Square from Saranya, your Equality, Liberation and Access Officer, before the march!

After the march there will be several speeches in the Balloon Bar (Richmond Building) from 19:30. Hear from Bristol Feminist Collective, That’s What She Said, Bristol Sex Workers Collective and iFemSoc!
