Come join us for an introduction to **Charleston**! Charleston is a lively style of Swing dance, known for its upbeat, playful energy and distinctive footwork. Swing is a family of dances that originated in African American communities in Harlem, New York City, during the 1920s and 30s, and charleston is one of its most recognisable and joyful styles. In this beginner-friendly session, you’ll learn a selection of fun charleston moves and get a feel for the rhythm of jazz! Whether you’re completely new to dance or already have some experience, come along and give it a go! Everyone is welcome, no experience or partner required! We’ll rotate partners throughout the class, so you’ll get to dance with lots of different people. Wear whatever you feel comfortable moving in, and don’t forget to bring a water bottle, dancing is thirsty work!
