Description

What is the SEH Access Pass?

All students who attend club training sessions allocated through the Facility Allocation Matrix will be required to have a valid Sport, Exercise and Health (SEH) Access Pass at the cost of £25.

We are reducing the cost of membership by £29 (#WeAreBristol Pass was £54).

Club members will be required to make one single payment via the Bristol SU website when joining a club. The SEH Access Pass will be purchased at the same time as club membership via the Bristol SU website.

Why am I being asked to purchase this through Bristol SU?

As you know, all students who attend club training sessions in Sport, Exercise and Health facilities are currently required to purchase at least a #WeAreBristol membership, at an annual cost of £54. This is in addition to the membership each student takes out with a Bristol SU Club.

After consultation with students and clubs through the SEH Memberships survey, focus groups and other channels, the following issues were highlighted:

  • The current approach is confusing to club members. Many don’t understand why two memberships (Club and SEH) are required to join a club and access SEH facilities
  • There is a need to simplify the membership process with, ideally, only one membership purchase required by club members
  • SEH Operational Staff have an ongoing dialogue with club members to ensure they comply with the SEH Membership requirements
  • The total cost of memberships (Club and #WeAreBristol) is regarded as being too high

Following a review of the feedback on the existing sports pass requirements to access club training sessions on facilities owned or funded by Sport, Exercise & Health, we can confirm that the process and requirements are changing from 1st August 2022. SEH have agreed with Bristol SU, that club members will no longer be required to pay £54 for a #WeAreBristol membership. Instead, the membership will be replaced by a £25 charge that students must pay at the time of purchasing the individual club membership on the SU website. The funds raised through this process and your membership data will be transferred to SEH by Bristol SU.
