Join us for our Darkroom Induction Workshop!
You do not need a Darkroom Membership to attend this session. You need Standard PhotoSoc Membership to buy a ticket.
If you are interested in the darkroom but are not sure whether you want to purchase a Darkroom Membership, this workshop is a great opportunity to see how the facilities work, learn what you can do in the darkroom, and decide whether it is right for you.
This session is designed to introduce PhotoSoc members to the basics of darkroom photography, including black & white film developing and printing.
During the workshop, we will cover:
• Darkroom safety and basic rules
• An introduction to darkroom equipment
• How to develop black & white film
• The basic developing process, including loading film, chemicals, washing and drying
• How to use an enlarger
• Basic black & white printing techniques
• A practical demonstration and Q&A
Whether you are interested in using the darkroom, developing your own film, making your own prints, or simply curious about how the process works, you are very welcome to join. No previous darkroom experience is required.
Spaces are limited due to the size of the darkroom, so please book a ticket in advance.
